In early 2024, Broman Logistics Oy, part of the Broman Group, expanded its operations at the Kerava facility. This expansion aimed to improve the automation of pallet collection by incorporating TAWI's advanced vacuum lifter technology.
Broman wanted to test TAWI´s vacuum lifter solution to improve productivity and ergonomics. It was also important that the vacuum lifter could be used flexibly at two different workstations as needed. Currently, everything is working smoothly.
Solution: Introducing TAWI Vacuum Lifter - receives positive employee feedback
Elina Kuusipuska, the Logistics Project Manager at Broman Logistics, told about the recent introduction of the TAWI vacuum lifter. The vacuum lifter was installed so that it could be used at two different picking stations. The installation space was quite tight and challenging, so the solution had to be lightweight and easily adaptable.
The products range is from car spare parts to various retail items, such as swimming pools and small garden tools. At Broman, the vacuum lifter is used to place goods onto pallets, from which forklifts pick up the prepared pallets for further delivery. Although it has been in use for a short time, employees have given positive feedback, its ease of use and how it improves work ergonomics and conserves energy.
“The vacuum lifter has been easy to use and all employees who has used it are positive,” - Elina Kuusipuska, Logistics Project Manager .
Result: Innovative lifting solutions enhance efficiency and ergonomics
Broman Logistics plans to expand the use of the vacuum lifter in the final collection phase of the Kerava extension. The company is also exploring other TAWI solutions to further enhance ergonomics in their warehouse operations.
